Despite my journal post to the contrary, I haven't posted new work in two days.  Tuesday was a simple lack of time.  It's the night my gaming group and I get together, and I didn't get home until around 10:30pm or so.  After that, I had a long chat with a friend that lasted until nearly 1am. Yesterday, I spent several hours attempting a portrait, but if my Rachel McAdams is representative of me being fully in the zone, then the results of last night's endeavors represent what happens when I'm fully out of the zone.  I spent about an hour and a half just trying to capture a vague likeness, to no avail.  I ultimately decided to cut my losses a

As you can probably tell from the gallery, I've finally started drawing again.  I'm back to pencil and paper, and have decided to unabashedly tackle one of the two drawing styles of which I am most fond.  I'm going to try to do at least one portrait a day for a while, until I feel like I can reliably capture someone's face. I think there's a huge difference in the recent drawings I've done when compared to my previous work.  I'm not sure what happened.  I haven't done much, if any, drawing since the last entries I posted here, so I can't chalk it up to hidden practice.  It's as though something finally 'clicked' in my head.  The technique is
